The Americans now have gone 30 years without winning the Ryder Cup away from home, a losing streak the entire team knows all too well. “The obvious bullet points don't need to be mentioned, and that's one of them.”The context of this losing streak can be presented in so many ways. Phil Mickelson was there for all six losses during the losing streak. "It's like chalk and cheese the way a U.S. Ryder Cup golf course is set up compared with a European course. “Europe obviously has an amazing identity with the Ryder Cup,” Fleetwood said.

Carlota Ciganda's stunning win over Nelly Korda on the 17th hole gave Europe the point they needed to secure the Cup for a third consecutive tournament. Europe won the Solheim Cup in Ohio in 2021 and as defending champions needed 14 points to win, while the U.S. needed 14 1/2 points. We have created history yet again in the Solheim Cup. The Europeans, who trailed 4-0 after the first session on Friday, had shown great heart in fighting back, said Pettersen.

Federer vows not to be a stranger to tour in retirement

Sept 23 (Reuters) - Swiss maestro Roger Federer said he had missed everything about tennis following his retirement last year and vowed to not be a stranger to the tour despite his off-court commitments and the challenge of parenting two sets of twins. "In a way, I miss everything about the game, the exciting moments spent on court, break points saved, winning match points, holding up trophies, walking past the fans, taking selfies," Federer said. I don't have the weight of another match, of another practice where the body is maybe not right. Can't have it all, I've had it for 25 years and it was incredible and I'd do it all over again." "I've made myself a promise that I'll be no stranger to the tour, I'll try to come back from time to time, not all the time, but from time to time," Federer said.

On top of that, the EU will add an undisclosed amount to protect the forest from logging from the EU's Global Gateway scheme of investment in Latin America, where Amazon rainforest protection is one of the flagship projects. More than half of global destruction of old-growth tropical rainforests has taken place in the Amazon and bordering forests since 2002. 2 Jon Rahm has said “a lot” of players on the PGA Tour feel “betrayal” after the shock announcement of its partnership with LIV Golf. The decisions of some players to leave the established PGA Tour and DP World Tour to sign up with LIV Golf last year were met with consternation by many others. Now, with the two sides uniting once again, it opens questions about LIV Golf players’ eligibility for this year’s Ryder Cup which begins in September. Rahm has been a strong advocate of allowing LIV Golf players to be allowed to compete in the biennial tournament. Having hosted the game for almost six centuries, “the home of golf” – as Scotland is known – was recognized as the World’s Best Golf Destination for the very first time at the ninth edition of the annual World Golf Awards in Abu Dhabi this week. Despite the dominance of its legendary St. Andrews Old Course in the World’s Best Golf Course category – with five successive wins after the award’s inception – Scotland had never been recognized as the sport’s best destination. Auger-Aliassime produced a masterful performance at a packed O2 Arena, holding off a Djokovic comeback in the second set to clinch Team World's second victory of the day. Earlier, Auger-Aliassime and Jack Sock had come from a set down to beat Andy Murray and Matteo Berrettini 2-6 6-3 10-8. Tiafoe can give Team World an unassailable lead if he beats Stefanos Tsitsipas in the penultimate match. Should Team World, captained by John McEnroe, come out victorious it would be a massive turnaround after they lost 14-1 last year in Boston.
